My Message to the Parents and My Dancers:
I am Cheryl Beaulieu. My sister and I run Beaulieu Ballet School together. I started ballet when I was two and a half years old. I have currently been dancing for over 17 years. I have experience in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, pilates, yoga, clogging, ballroom dancing, swing dancing, and River Dance I started my dancing career at Matchie Studio of Dance and Drama back in the 80's. I started teaching at the age of 12 and had a solo in each of the company's performances from the age of 12. Unfortunately my teacher retired and I had to transfer to another school to pursue my passion of being a ballerina. From Matchie Studio of Dance and Drama I went to a local company in my town called Creative Dance Center. There I began classes four levels from the top of the company. Within a year I was in Soloists, which is the highest level of company. I took between four to five classes a week. When I moved out here to go to Sacred Heart University I took up classes at Bei-Ling Ballet and Gatta Dance. I currently enjoy taking classes at The American Ballet Theater, on Broadway, New York, when ever I get the chance. I enjoy expressing my creatism through choreography of dances.
In addition to working at the studio, I attend Sacred Heart University, where I am a sophomore. I am studying for my degree in Athletic Training. (Once I graduate I will go for my certification as an Athletic Trainer and an EMT ). At SHU I am a Catholic Social Thought Scholar (CSTS). In this program I must complete community service hours, go to meetings, and attend religious classes. I volunteer most of my hours for Habitat for Humanity and the Rescue Mission in downtown Bridgeport. In my spare time I enjoy dance, running, school, pageants, runway modeling, music, and community service. For the past three summers I was a child councilor at Sunrise Resort, in Moodus, CT. (back by my home town). I love working with kids the most because you can leave impressions with them that may change their life in a positive way.
I have taken part in a few pageants. I was Miss Hebron Harvest Fair Queen 2000-1. I was Miss Lebanon 2001-2 and the current Miss Connecticut InterContinental 2001-2. I have been runway modeling for the local designer, Kathy Faber Designs for the past four years. I feel that ballet has helped me achieve all of my successes in life in several ways. As a child taking dance at two years old, it instilled allot of discipline and self motivation in me. It also helped me have poise and grace to do things such as modeling and pageants.
